Vertical VS Horizontal Stitching
Option 1: Vertical Stitching (Recommended)
With vertical stitching, we rotate the fabric by 90 degrees, turning the height into the width.
This method creates a minimally noticeable seam, ideal for making extra long drapes.
Please note that this option is NOT suitable for the Cat Proof Sheer and Herringbone Blackout Curtains when adding height due to their special patterns and textures.
Option 2: Horizontal Stitching
Horizontal stitching is versatile and can be applied to ALL types of curtains we offer.
This approach might make the seam more noticeable, particularly on sheer curtains.

How do I find the right size for custom curtains?
To assist you in finding the perfect fit for your windows, Lumos offers an easy-to-use Measurement Tool. This guided quiz will walk you through all the necessary steps to get the right coverage width and height.
Just input the Coverage Width and Coverage Height from the quiz result, and we'll take care of the rest of the calculations to ensure your drapes have a luxurious 2x fullness. This means the fabric we use will be approximately twice your desired coverage width, creating that beautiful, rich look.
What does 'fullness' mean?
Fullness refers to the curtain width compared to the window width.
For a rich, luxurious appearance, our curtains are designed with a 2x fullness ratio at no extra cost, meaning the curtain's total width will be double the width of your window. You don't need to factor this into your measurements. Simply provide your desired coverage sizes from the result of our Measurement Tool, and we'll automatically calculate and apply the correct fullness for you.

Can I add more fullness/pleats if I want?
Yes! Please contact our customer service team at customerservice@lumoscirtains.com, and we’ll provide you with the measurements and a personalized quote.
Should I purchase pin hooks for the Pinch Pleated heading style?
No. All orders with Pinch Pleated heading styles will include adjustable hooks, attached to the pleats. These hooks are designed to let you fine-tune the curtain length by 1-2 inches for a perfect hang.
